BUTTS ON THINGS

HOW IT STARTED...

Everything started on Friday, February 5th, 2016 . Brian was drawing a cartoon character that was made from a coffee cup and thought it might work well to use the hot-sleeve as the character's shirt.

After sketching it out, it struck him as funny that the character was wearing a shirt and no pants. He grabbed another scrap of paper and doodled a new cup. This time it was the back of the cup, and there was a tiny butt exposed under the hot sleeve. He posted it to his Instagram just for fun with the hashtag #buttsonthings.

The Friday Doodle tradition was born...

THE FRIDAY DOODLE

People seemed to like Brian's initial drawing, so he started making a new one every Friday to celebrate the end of the work week. People started to share the project and more and more people began to tune in to see what he would draw next...

*NOTE* Brian has kept up this tradition for over 10 years now without missing a single Friday. He has now completed over 500 Friday Doodles.

THE BUTTS BLOW UP

As the series steadily gained popularity, Brian began to connect with fans at local art & craft fairs. When these events were shut down during the pandemic, some of his videos got lots of exposure on social media and the series started getting even more attention.

He was offered a book deal, and subsequent partnerships followed to create games, puzzles, and other products for fans of the series. In 2022 he began connecting with fans across the country at much larger events like New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic Con. Small crowds and lines started forming at his booth during these events and these crowds attracted even more people.

TO "BUTTFINITY" AND BEYOND!

In 2025 "Butts on Things" was awarded best exclusive at San Diego Comic Con. The momentum behind the brand started growing exponentially and bigger brands and partners started to get involved.

With no end in sight, Brian and his team are working to push the silly brand as far as it can go, and bring smiles to people in every corner of the world.

Because at the end of the day that's what it is all about, adding more smiles to the world.
